Amazon Fresh debuts the "Dash Cart"

Amazon Fresh debuts the 01-02-2022

After several "trial and error" Amazon seems to have found a physical concept that works for it. And it's not its latest trendy pop-up, AmazonStyle, unveiled in New York this January.

Amazon has accustomed us to disruptive concepts, pop-ups and headline-grabbing news. In its ongoing effort to conquer physical grocery retail, it launched Amazon Go, a promising prototype for checkout-free shopping that has been slow to scale and remains tremendously expensive.

The purchase of Whole Foods also looked set to revolutionize the sector, but has so far failed to live up to expectations or predictions. However, a year ago it opened the first Amazon Fresh in California... and it has already opened 23 times. Its concept of a supermarket where you can shop in the traditional way or using digital tools that simplify and speed up the purchase, does seems to have found the key: to provide additional value to the customer with a business concept that is profitable.

It also gives Amazon desired physical points for click&collect and customer service.
